Description
Great horned owls normally produce one to five eggs each breeding season. After the eggs hatch, brooding is continuous until the offspring are about two weeks old. At six weeks of age, young owls are able to move from their nest onto nearby branches and at seven weeks they begin to fly. These two youngsters were able to practice their flying skills moving between the branches of an old cottonwood tree.
