Always busy, the tiny pika, is one of the cutest residents of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Pika are often seen scurrying to and from their rocky den, carrying vegetation clippings which they dry into "haystacks". During the long winter, pikas remain under the snow, feeding on the dried vegetation they gathered before winter set in.
About Sandy Sisti
I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home. I now live outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in nearby, Wapiti, Wyoming. Since I left my corporate job, I spends most of my days in the company of the wildlife and wild horses that call this area home.
