Description
During spring at Yellowstone's Le Hardy Rapids, you may catch a glimpse of small clown-like birds known as harlequin ducks. The harlequin got its name from the male's colorful plumage which resembles the facial makeup of a circus clown. This little duck is one of the rarest in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and is only present in the area during spring breeding season.
