Since they first left their natal bands, the pinto stallion, Garth and the grey stallion, Boreal, have been inseparable. Garth (at right) is currently a band stallion, and after much fighting between the pair to see who would be in charge, he has allowed his longtime companion, Boreal, to be his lieutenant. As you can see, they're still "friends" as much as two stallions can be, which means fights do break out occasionally, but they're no longer as serious as they once were.
I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home.
