As autumn approaches, grizzlies enter the period of excessive eating known as hyperphagia. During this time, grizzlies can gain up to three pounds a day as they prepare to enter their den for winter. This grizzly, known as Raspberry, was photographed as foraging on the way up to her den in late autumn.

I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home. I now live outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in nearby, Wapiti, Wyoming.
