Description
Northern pygmy-owls are active during daylight hours and rely on their acute vision hunt. Because of their diurnal nature, this tiny owl has not developed a good sense of hearing, silent flight, or exceptional night vision, like other nocturnal owls.

These guys are hard to find, but very neat to photograph, Tim. I don't see them very often, usually only in January or February, but they're just so darn cute.

Wonderful capture of this little guys! I have been looking for one for years! :-)

Thanks so much Sandi! There seem to be a lot of these little guys around the Yellowstone area this year. I'm not sure why, but I'm definitely happy about it!
