The young black colt, Half Moon, tries to give a little peck to his big sister, Trinity. Even though Half Moon was born almost two months ago, these two have only just met. Sadly, nine month old Trinity was rejected by her mother, Tokala, in March. When this happened, Trinity wandered the range, crying for her mother, but Tokala would not respond. Even though Trinity was just a youngster, without a family to protect her, she was scooped up by the band stallion, Siska. Thankfully, just a few months later, Trinity was again welcomed into the family with her mother and young brother. She's still with band stallion, Siska, but still spends a lot of time with Half Moon and her mother, Tokala.
I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home.
