Artist's Description
It's always a good day when I see my favorite stallion, Washakie, and it's an even better day when I see him looking so well going into winter.
As he's done for the last few winters, Washakie has banded up with a few bachelor stallions, including his nemesis/BFF, Wapiti. Wapiti is the young bay stud who dogged Washakie for two years, and eventually put that big gash in Washakie's left side. The relationship between Washakie and Wapiti is one of the most perplexing on the range, but I'm glad they have each other, especially during winter.
About Sandy Sisti
I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. I now live outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in nearby, Wapiti, Wyoming. Since I left my corporate job, I spends most of my days in the company of the wildlife and wild horses that call this area home. Currently, most of my time is devoted to observing and documenting the wild horses of...
